Not the Right Fit If:

• You can’t check in on your RV regularly. Unpaved lots often stir up debris which can lodge itself into your vehicle's underbelly. Routine checks can catch signs of lodged debris. Choose a lower-maintenance storage option if you can’t perform these semi-routine checks.
• You’re worried about your RV getting stuck in the mud. Whether you’re new to RVs or a seasoned RVer, there’s nothing worse than trying to get your trailer unstuck from thick muddy gravel.

• You need extra space to maneuver. Unpaved lots have fewer size restrictions than almost any other RV storage option, allowing you to pull through, back in, and make multiple-point turns without the threat of hitting other cars or crossing lot lines.

Not the Right Fit If:

• You can’t perform routine roof maintenance which is necessary when storing recreational vehicles outside without top coverage — regardless of how mild San Diego’s weather may be.
• You want easy access to your motorhome as most unpaved lots sit outside city limits and are located in more rural areas.

Not the Right Fit If:

• You need to store an RV for long periods. California has strict regulations about how long you can park trailers and motorhomes in residential driveways.
• You are unfamiliar with how to park an RV on a slope safely: San Diego is what many would consider to be a hilly city. While you can park a travel trailer on a slope, you’ll need to follow these helpful tips if you don’t want your trailer to roll away in the middle of the night.

• You have an extra tall or long trailer that may be too large to fit in typical garages.

Carport

• You find backing into tight spaces difficult as carports will have limited space to turn and maneuver.
